A well-established multi-disciplinary consultancy who have offices throughout the UK are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to join their team in Newcastle as an Associate Director. The role would assist the Director in managing their varied workload and service their ever increasing project portfolio. This role would suit someone looking to take the next step up in their career, using the project management skills they’ve acquired to date to challenge themselves further by taking on a fuller role when it comes to client responsibility and operating at a more strategic level.

The consultancies ethos is to ensure that each client receives a personalised service specific to their organization and project. They work in partnership with clients, working to understand their overall business needs which ensures all project work undertaken is successful. A lot of their work is repeat business which is a testament to their hard work. The Directors of the business have a hands on approach and are actively involved in service delivery. This appointment is key to continued growth of the business, the Associate Director will have daily input with the Directors ensuring the vision is delivered in reality. Everyone is encouraged to input in all areas of the process and be prepared to help in areas outside of their main role for the benefit of the client and the company. Their current project portfolio includes health projects, utilities, retail, historic, higher education and commercial projects with private developers, financial institutions, universities and local authorities. Projects range from £3million to £30 million.

They are looking to appoint someone to head up and work with the existing dedicated project management team, being a key point of contact for clients and coaching the internal team to ensure consistency. You will be acting as the key, day to day client interface, ensuring that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards.

You’ll have the autonomy to handle any issues that arise and be responsible for sourcing an appropriate solution. You will be leading on the delivery of Project Management commissions and taking responsibility for end to end service delivery on projects that are frequently complex.

The client is looking for someone who is degree qualified (this can be as a Building Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor) and has a demonstrable track record in Project Management. Experience of building your own work stream through pitching to new clients and managing bids and tenders is preferable.

You will need to have strong project planning skills, the ability to be commercially astute with good negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
