£28,080 p/a + £3000 living allowance + OT & bonus

Over time; Mon - Fri: £15 p/h, sat: £18 p/h, sun and bank holidays: £24 p/h

Bonus: £100 / month

Nights out: £27 tax free

Due to continued growth we are recruiting for an additional Class 2 HGV Driver, based out of Gravesend, to load and deliver lubricants safely, with environmental care, promptly and efficiently, as directed to specified locations within our Clients' operating area.

Guaranteed 45 hours per week with over time available - working 5 days a week, including days and nights out (expenses paid i.e. secure parking). Shift start times can vary but normal starts are between 06:00am and 08:00am.

Our Client is a rapidly expanding fuels and lubricants distributor, who is independent and family-run, with a history dating back more than 50 years.

Responsibilities:

Report directly to the Lubricants Planner and Transport Supervisor for whom you will be required to undertake deliveries and other occasional duties

Drive efficiently and effectively in a safe and cost-effective manner

Comply with Driver hours and WTD hours

Attempt to contact customers or their representative on arrival to site to establish the correct customer, lubricant grade, volume and tank to fill

You will ensure that you conform to standards of dress, appropriate PPE and company uniform

Conduct daily Nil Defect Vehicle Checks

Monthly Vehicle Check

Complete VC40 Defect report to the Lubricants Planner/ Fleet Engineer

Work with our clients' customers to meet/ exceed their expectation

Contribute towards the delivery of a professional and courteous sales and delivery service to all our customers inside and outside of the business

In order to apply, you will have:

  • HGV licence, Class 2.
  • ADR (current/expired including Class 3 tanks) or experience delivering bulk liquids or powders.
  • FLT licence, desirable but not essential as for training will be provided
  • CPC
  • Must have evidence of a minimum of three years commercial vehicle driving experience
  • Experience of safe handling and operation of fuel, bulk liquid or powder delivery vehicle equipment desired.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with customers, clients and colleagues
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic numeral standard
  • Ability to use IT based recording systems to input and extract data
