An exciting opportunity has arisen within the physiotherapy
team at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for a dynamic and experienced physiotherapist
to provide a service to our acute neurosciences ward. This is an acute 27
bedded area and there is also a close observations area with 6 beds.
There are strong and well developed links with other members
of the MDT in order to provide a cohesive service to patients with neurosurgical
and neurological conditions. As a region wide service the successful candidate
can expect to provide services to patients with complex presentations such as
TBI, Functional neurological disorders and MND.
Excellent communication skills are vital in ensuring the
safe and timely discharge of this patient group.
The successful candidate will also have to be able to
deliver teaching sessions on hospital programmes such as tracheostomy training
and critical care courses. From time to time training is also delivered to
carers when patients have particularly complex needs.
The acute physiotherapy team are a dynamic and enthusiastic
group of staff involved in many different clinical interest groups, quality
improvement programmes, staff side and safety rep groups, regional wide
clinical networks etc. The department
offers many training opportunities and staff are actively encouraged to

Service are delivered over days and this post will work mon
– fri and weekends on a rota.
