About the role

We are currently recruiting for a Creative Lead to join our Commercial Marketing team based at our Northampton Office. This is a fixed term contract for 12 months.

Key responsibilities

  • This role is responsible for directing brand enhancing creative and user experiences across the UK digital platforms, relevant and engaging for consumers and Representatives.

  • This covers all areas of the Avon B2B online landscape including desktop, mobile, social and emails using key web languages and technologies in your delivery. In support of our UK transformation plan.

  • You will develop and drive a digital strategy that supports the store and category strategies, driving sales and average order growth, along with representative and customer acquisition and engagement.

  • Managing, coaching and directing 10 digital designers to create and publish, emails, animation, video, HTML5 banners, GIFs. Alongside campaignly site refreshes for our B2C, B2B and social media platforms. You will be able to develop and direct your team to create toolkits to aid efficiency and consistency as well as email templates with responsive and dynamic capabilities.

  • You will need to direct your team in using content management tools, the Adobe suite, JavaScript, HTML and web languages.

  • You will work alongside global teams to oversee testing for platform and system updates as required.

  • With proven success in communication and team motivation, you’ll have the ability to manage a fast-paced workload and multiple deadlines.

  • You’ll need experience in workflow management and the ability to interact fluidly and priorities with your business partners.

  • You’ll have proven experience in coaching and people development to maintain and build a high performing team. As a leader of 10, you’ll challenge, motivate and inspire your team to execute flawless and customer centric design solutions. Continually demonstrating excellent listening skills, carrying the ability to proactively resolve challenge and influence at a senior level.

  • You will oversee and direct training materials across several platforms, designed to support the learning and development of Avon Representatives.

  • You’ll be on the pulse with advances in the digital sector and able to use your knowledge and observations to develop your team and influence the development of the Avon digital experience.

About you

What we’re looking for:

  • College/Degree level of education in digital creative

  • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience in creative direction, graphic/web design experience including significant Web Design responsibilities retail background is an advantage.

  • Extensive knowledge of Web browsers, HTML, JavaScript, CSS and CMS, web languages and technologies.

  • Excellent working knowledge of the Adobe Suite of Products

  • Experience with database-driven, template web sites

  • Experience with storyboarding / wireframing techniques

  • Knowledge of digital design and coding best practices

  • Strong portfolio that demonstrates a broad range of web design knowledge and expertise

  • People Management experience, leading creative teams across multiple levels.

  • Managing schedules, large budgets and planning/forecasting expenditure

  • Proven experience in stakeholder management at senior level, inclusive of board level.

  • Strong communication & organisational skills

  • Experience in producing artwork to finished print ready standard preferable, but not essential.

  • InDesign / Creative Suite preferable, but not essential.
