The following are an essential requirement for this role:

  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages.
  • Qualified to A Level standard.

The following would be beneficial but are not essential:

  • Part qualified AAT/CIMA/ACCA.
  • Previous experience of management accounting in a similar organisation.
  • Experience of working with SAP.

What are the key duties?

As a Finance Assistant you will provide financial expertise and support for Portakabin Group Sales Division. To ensure that the company operates effectively and correctly within the controls and guidelines set by the Portakabin Group.

Key duties include:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly Management Accounts to strict deadlines, helping to ensure that all Balance Sheet Accounts are reconciled each month, taking corrective action to guarantee timeliness and accuracy of information.
  • Support the preparation of monthly profit and cash flow forecasts.
  • Acquire and display a good understanding of the business and to provide management information to support the Division.
  • Assist with ensuring that the Division complies with all accounting policies of the Portakabin Group and make certain that accounting issues specific to the Division are properly recognised and resolved.
  • Aid the annual budget process for the Division ensuring reports are completed and deadlines met and a thorough budget is prepared.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual statutory financial accounts and support the annual audit process where necessary.
  • Provide support and assistance to the Finance Manager / Financial Controller as required.
