A Health Care Assistant in a busy orthopaedic ward requires excellent communication skills, the ability to plan multiple tasks whilst constantly being interrupted. You should have the ability to anticipate and plan workload that delivers a high standard of care to a group of patients and also the ability to assist others in the delivery of healthcare, ensuring that dignity and safety are preserved. This post is based in distinct wards which are: Wards 26 and 27 are orthopaedic step down wards and deliver care predominantly to an elderly patient group: Ward 61 is a fast paced receiving ward dealing with pre and post operative management of patients following traumatic injury, many of who are elderly and require maximum levels of support. The shift pattern for this post is rotational 5.77hrs and 11.53hrs. This post requires membership of Disclosure Scotland's PVG Scheme.
