BMI St Edmunds Hospital in Bury St Edmunds is part of BMI Healthcare, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. 

We have an opportunity for a Housekeeping Lead to join their team of staff in the Housekeeping department.

This is a FULL time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Hours of work are from 6am - 9pm on a rota basis, weekend working required but limited to one in 6. Currently no working on public holidays and the hospital is closed for the Christmas period (2018 - 22nd Dec to 2nd Jan 2019).This role, although challenging would provide a good work / life balance

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory position
  • Prior experience in completing audits
  • Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
  • Proficient in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.
  • Hard working
  • Friendly and courteous
  • Good Communication skills essential

Duties of this role include:     

  • The Housekeeping Lead is responsible for a range of services throughout BMI facilities:
  • Lead the Housekeeping team, ensuring that BMI’s high standards of cleanliness are being maintained.
  • Ensuring the environment is safe and pleasant for patients, visitors and BMI employees
  • Undertaking duties related to the provision of housekeeping services
  • Ensuring all associated housekeeping duties are carried out effectively and efficiently.
  • The position is flexible and the Housekeeping Lead role will be flexible to the business needs and ensure all areas of Housekeeping are adequately staffed in line with demand
