Standard (minimum) hours for sales staff are 9.00 to 17:45hrs with 1 hour for lunch. Monday to Friday inclusive.
stocking distributor of a wide range of products for use in computer networks, telecommunications and security systems. Products include Data Centres, fibre optic cables, CAT5e/CAT6 cables, voice cables, connectors, enclosures, cabinets, trunking systems, tools, test equipment, splicing equipment, Ethernet networking equipment, wireless LAN products, and CCTV/access control products.
A professional sales role, internally based with occasional face to face customer visits. Technical knowledge is not essential to communicate effectively with customers. Target driven with sales budgets and supporting activity, including quality and quantity of orders/calls. Necessity to follow procedural requirements including ERP system (Lakeview) and paper based processes.
Part of Sale Representative role will be active participation in prospecting and developing new accounts, generating sales quotes, and handling customer inquiries to help service customers and grow the business. There will also be cold and warm calls for new market initiatives while developing technical knowledge about data communication products and vendors. The role will be highly engaged in business development.
Develop a sound knowledge of our products, vertical markets and customers with a view to selling our products.
Maintain and develop close relationships with customers and a knowledge of their business requirements with a view to selling our products.
Identify and develop new business opportunities within existing and new customers.
Interpret customer requirements clearly and provide quotations accordingly.
Negotiate the best sales price to maximize profitability.
Progress quotations in a timely fashion with a view to winning orders.
Process customer orders and maintain customer files.
Checking customer order paperwork for accuracy, completeness and compatibility.
Maintain a database of customer and prospective customer contacts.
Expand our customer database by obtaining new customer contacts within existing customer accounts and new prospective customers.
Manage a sales area (defined geographically by postcode).
Increase levels of business within a defined geographical area to achieve sales and profitability targets.
Arrange customer visits for External Account Managers.
Visit customers when required.
Attend exhibition stands when required.
Support company marketing initiatives by discussing the marketing material with customers with a view to selling products.
Use company computer systems including MS Office and Lakeview (ERP System).
Liaise with purchasing and stores to ensure that deliveries meet customer expectations.
Conduct other tasks as instructed.
Delegate administrative and some pro-active tasks to Sales Administrators.
Measurement and performance through working to Key Performance Indicators, including Sales, Orders, Average Transaction Value, Conversion Rate and Call Volume.
Previous sales experience with a proven track record of achieving sales targets within a driven and pressurised sales environment.
Initiative to identify and develop new business opportunities.
Ability to learn about a wide range of technical products.
