The Management Accountant will be responsible for providing the monthly accounting reports and advise management on commercial opportunities within the business. It is a newly created position reporting to the Director of Commercial Affairs. The role is full time Monday-Friday, 40 hrs per week. Our office is located in Wembley, London.


  • Responsible for development and production of relevant management accounts schedules and weekly sales reporting for distribution to the business.

  • Advise management on commercial opportunities based on financial review and analysis.

  • Manage the pricing structure for the business across all market sectors, nationally and globally.

  • Stock management.

  • Management of cost centres and budgets across all business activities.

  • Responsible for management of all team expenses and expenditure.

  • Prepare margin reports and forecasts when looking to gain new business.

  • Responsible for end to end production of accounts analysis and responsible for the production of forecasts and budgets.

  • Produce, analyse and interpret weekly sales reports, liaising with the Sales team with regards to customer specific reporting.

  • Ownership of monthly accounts to include preparation, review and highlighting key trends and opportunities to improve business performance.

  • Maximise opportunities for financial analysis and investigation of results to explain any variances.

  • Own and develop robust reports on external customer behaviours that highlights risk and opportunity to the Management team to ensure business increases and grows.

  • Drive internal compliance within the Group, report and communicate with multiple stakeholders across the business.

  • Responsible for production of financial evaluation for capital projects, including NPV & IRR calculations, for review and sign off by management.

  • Participate in training as and when advised by manager.

Skills & experience

  • Exam qualified (ACCA, AAT, CIMA or other), with post qualified experience to include giving commercial guidance within the business.

  • Experience working in a commercial finance role within a medical or health care business.

  • Experience of margin analysis, cost centre creation and management and budget planning.

  • Experience with changes to Government funding affecting pharmacy contractor payments and varied drug tariff rules.


  • Excellent analytical skills, with ability to access, review and effectively report on a broad range of data.

  • Stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with ability to build and maintain effective relationships and to challenge senior stakeholders.

  • Professional, confident communicator who is smart in appearance with strong written, presentation and listening skills.
