Specialist provider of complex systems to the marine sector has an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering Manager to join a professional team of 8-10 mechanical designers & draughtsmen.
The Mechanical Engineering Manager will be managing a team producing new designs to tight timescales in a supportive team environment for mechanical marine handling systems.
We are seeking a driven candidate from a design background with proven managerial experience who is interested in taking control and direction of a professional team. You will be attending all technical meetings both in the UK & Overseas, provide bid support, and review all documentation. The Mechanical Design Manager will provide on-going technical support & guidance to a team of varying levels of ability.
We are seeking a flexible candidate who is prepared to manage and support all aspects of complex one-off machines.
We are looking for engineers with an innovative mechanical background, a passion for engineering excellence and significant experience on which to draw.
The successful candidate will have:
? Experience of structural steel fabrication design
? Effective in carrying out detailed structural strength calculations for both structural and mechanical components
? Solid ability with AutoCAD Inventor
? Solid ability with ANSYS for FEA
The following is also desirable:
? BEng (Hons) Design Engineering or equivalent experience
? Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership
? Familiar and confident with 3-D structural analysis
? Competent in Basic 3-D FEA techniques
Hours of work will be based on a normal five day working week of 37 hrs between 08:00 - 16:45 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 - 12:00 Friday. However due to operational requirements you will be required and must be prepared to work additional hours over and above these.
Holiday entitlement is 33 days per annum including all statutory and public holidays. Pension scheme is as per current statutory legislation. This position does not include a company vehicle, however transport will be provided if deemed necessary when requested to attend other sites on company business.
This role is based in the West Midlands and is commutable from within and around the following areas: Telford, Shrewsbury, Wolverhampton and Wellington.
