An opportunity has arisen for a Community Nursery Nurse to join the Children and Families Team in Springburn Health Centre. You will support the health visiting team to provide an accessible, appropriate, culturally sensitive, safe, person centred and effective service for children, young people and families in the community, by working in partnership with service users, care providers and other agencies. You will hold an SVQ 3, HNC in child care or NNEB equivalent and will support the health visitor in delivering care to children, young people and families within the caseload. You will also participate in health improvement activities as delegated by the health visitor
The Health Visiting service operates an open access policy that is available Monday to Friday excluding Public Holidays. The service does not operate a waiting list, however, care needs are prioritised to be able to respond to both planned and unplanned interventions. This includes the ability to respond timeously to clients/families that require an urgent visit. You will participate in the care of clients / families in their own home, or community setting under the direction of a Health Visiting team, taking into account the lifestyle, race, gender and cultural background, and factors which impact on physical, mental or emotional health. You will represent the values and beliefs of the Health visiting service as well as that of the organisation. Daily workload will be varied with a range of activities delegated by the Health Visiting team. Skills required include the provision of specialised advice, parenting skills, health promotion, health education and psychosocial interventions. At times there are interventions required such as group work and individual support which have been identified by the Health Visitor (e.g. families who have been identified as requiring additional support). You will work mainly independently without direct supervision on a day to day basis. You must be able to demonstrate good communication skills (both verbal and written), IT skills and evidence continuing professional development. You should have an SVQ3, HNC in child care or NNEB equivalent. The service operates Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm. The hours for this post are 33.75 per week worked over 4.5 days. This post requires membership of Disclosure Scotland's PVG Scheme. PLEASE READ AND SAVE THE CANDIDATE APPLICATION PACK BEFORE SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. This post will be closing on the 1st June 2018.
