£9.53 per hour + £1.33 leave allowance per hour = £10.86 per hour before deductions.

Seasonal staff required from March - October 2018 at Surrey Outdoor Learning and Development (SOLD). Substantial hours available through the season.

We require staff at Thames Young Mariners (TYM) OEC, Richmond, Ham, High Ashurst, near Dorking, Surrey, Henley Fort OEC in Guildford.

We also require staff that are available for occasional work.

Staff may be required to work across the 3 centres. There is a possibility of staff accommodation available at TYM for substantial hour workers. Please ask for more details.

An enhanced DBS ‘Disclosure and Barring Service’ check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children’s and Adults’ Barred List checks will be required for this role.

About the Role

We are looking for Outdoor Instructors to deliver high quality outdoor sessions at our busy outdoor centres.

We require applicants to hold a minimum of one relevant national governing body qualification as listed below. Interested applicants who do not hold these qualifications, but have transferable skills and interests in the outdoors may also apply.  Relevant training will be given.

Qualifications are:

Thames Young Mariners (Some staff accommodation available for seasonal staff )

  • BC Paddlesports Instructor or above
  • RYA Assistant Instructor or above
  • High Ashurst and Henley Fort (No staff accommodation)
  • Archery GB Instructor Award
  • A walking qualification such as Sports Leader Lowland Expedition Leader/MT Lowland Leader/MT Mountain Leader
  • MIAS level 2/ British Cycling Mountain Bike Leadership Level 2 Instructor
  • Forest Schools Leader L3
  • SPA / CWA / ERCA Ropes Course instructor
  • BC Paddlesports Instructor / Paddlesports Leader
