Holiday Entitlement4 weeks per annum plus bank holidays. The holiday year runs from 1st April – 31st March. An incremental increase applies with service and commences after 2 years completed service increasing to a maximum entitlement of 200 hours pro rata after 6 years service.

Benefits - The post holder will be entitled to free use of the YMCA Fitness Centre, and half price childcare for dependents. There is free parking available at YMCA Banstead Children’s Centre and other YMCA sites and we operate a Cycle to Work Scheme.

About the Role

You will provide information and advice to local families being an integral part of the team supporting administration tasks.

1. To identify services required by families and then to deliver them at a location that meets those needs.
2. To be an appropriate personal/professional role model for both children and families.
3. To provide information, guidance and advice for parents about local services for children and families.
4. To work with the manager to deliver the core purpose of the centre as currently required via Surrey/local and national data.
5. To work with the Children’s Centre Manager to carry out research to identify the needs of local families with young children and to set up activities to meet these needs.
6. To work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure a multi-agency approach to meet the needs of the families.
7. To support delivery of activities and sessions during term time and holidays
8. To plan, deliver and evaluate workshops/parenting programmes to families one alone to one basis and within a group
9. To be proactive in ensuring that the centre is publicised to our families and those in the wider community, enhancing the Centre’s registration numbers.
10. Keep accurate records of any contacts or interventions with families. Records need to be accurate, valid and current and kept confidential at all times.
11. To promote the abilities of families to gain knowledge and skills to change both their own and their family’s lifestyles.
12. To be able to complete Early Help assessments and review when required. Attend TAF/TAC meetings and provide precise information.
13. To use the various IT systems and programmes to log families progress including E-start and Outcome Star
14. To work at various locations throughout the reach area of the Children’s Centre.
15. To be able to meet the diverse and specific needs of all families within our reach area
16. Encourage all families to take part in centre activities and offer extra support for those who find this difficult to do so.
