SEN Teaching Assistant - Barking and Dagenham


The SENCO within a supportive primary school in Barking and Dagenham requires a Graduate Teaching Assistant to work with 1:1 with a student who has Autism.


This position would suit a Graduate who is looking to pursue a career in to teaching or Educational psychology

Graduate Teaching Assistant Specification
The school are looking for an empathetic and positive graduate who has previous experience working with SEN children either in a volunteer or paid role and an approachable and accommodating manner. You will have the ability to show you have the confidence to interact with pupils and staff alike. The school wants to recruit someone who has the want to do the very best that them can to help make a difference to the learning of seen pupils.


About the Graduate Teaching Assistant Role
As a Primary Teaching Assistant at this school you will be working 1:1 with pupil an autistic pupil. You will gain an insight of how it is to work with in a school setting. The school is committed to the career progression of all its staff and you will start to gain training and continued professional development scheme. A large part of your timetable will be leading small groups of pupils and working 1:1 with students giving them extra confidence with the curriculum. Day-to-day, you will be learning how to create a differentiated lesson plan and earning the respect of a charming Special Educational Needs Coordinator.
