If this position is filled at the GS- 7 grade level, it has promotion potential to the GS-8 grade level or filled at the GS-8 grade level, and has promotion potential to the GS-9 grade level. However, promotion to the higher grade is not guaranteed, but dependent on the selectee's demonstration of the ability to perform the duties of the higher grade to the satisfaction of the supervisor, and there must be enough work at the higher-grade level to support the grade. In addition, the selectee must meet all legal and regulatory requirements for promotion. The Central Alabama Veteran Health Care System (CAVHCS) is a consolidated health care system that includes VA Medical Centers in Montgomery and Tuskegee Alabama as well as Montgomery HCC, Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) in Dothan Alabama, Ft. Rucker Alabama, Monroeville, Alabama and Columbus Georgia. The Primary Duty Station for these position are at the Tuskegee Campus. The incumbent may be required to work on site at the other locations as required. Current permanent employees of CAVHCS, including Veteran Canteen Service (VCS) permanent employees who have completed 90 days of continuous service in the VCS, Interchange Agreement and all permanent VISN 7 employees physically located at CAVHCS may apply.
