This large secondary school for 11-16 year olds, located to the West of Birmingham city centre, south of the M6, are seeking to appoint an outstanding university graduate, initially to the role of a TA for 2 terms for September 2018. The role will initially require the successful applicant to support within Key Stages Three trough Key Stage Five within the school, working with both low ability pupils, and the gifted and talented, to enhance their skill and ability levels.
The school are looking for outstanding candidates, ideally you should have a 1st class honours degree, and or have completed a Masters. Under the leadership of the new head the school have ambitious plans to improve standards (the school were recently graded as Good by OFSTED), and you will have high standards and expectations both of yourself and the pupils and staff you work with.
The school has an inclusive ethos and is as proud of its role in the community and the development of the pupils as well rounded young adults as it is of the exam results they produce. You will be expected to immerse yourself in the ethos and day to day life of the school, supporting pupils both on a 1-2-1 basis and in groups. You will be given support and direction, but will also be required to use your initiative and take an active role in the classroom.
