This role is a multifaceted one with flexibility on subject specialism. The main bulk of your duties will be to support students with barriers to learning within your chosen subject area. You will also support a child in year 7 who has non-hearing parents who communicate using BSL, so you will need to be conversational in BSL at the very least.

For this post you should be an accomplished graduate who has a strong academic record with a 2:2 or above in your chosen discipline and experience working with SEN. You will have a personable, agreeable character and a desire to work within SEN, supporting children with additional needs. The school wants a graduate who can utilise both modern and traditional forms of communication, as well as BSL. You will have the skills to show you have an incredible empathy for children who struggle with daily tasks, including those with special educational needs.
