The Transport and Sort function collects, receives and redistributes client parcels daily to Service Centres across the network. The Control Room function supports the Transport & Sort operation for the Hatfield Sort hub site ensuring agreed service levels are achieved and completed in an operationally efficient and safe manner.
What you’ll be doing:
The role of the Section Leader is to support the conduct of Sort operations through the co-ordination and close control of allocated Sortation processing activity to achieve the timely, safe and efficient distribution of parcels, whilst maintaining the highest of standards of site performance at all times, in line with Company procedures. The Section Leader is the first level of management co-ordination, therefore will be the first point of contact for the control of staff including the allocation of colleagues to tasks, supervision of performance standards and identification and resolution of operational or staffing problems through the Sort centre management chain. They will be required to work closely with all other Section Leaders and Sort managers to ensure continuity of operational efficiency in the hub.
What you need to get started:
Credible and demonstrable experience of operating within a Parcel Sortation or Warehousing & distribution environment.
Previous experience of completing a supervisory or leadership role within a warehouse or logistics site.
Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation.
Ability to complete basic administration/documentation.
Ability to communicate effectively with team.
Ability to work on own initiative and unsupervised.
Ability to communicate in English.
